Barley Crusher Gap Adjustment

Google failed me so I have a question about the barley crusher I got today.

The one adjustment knob can spin without loosening the lock screws, making the gap uneven. The screws to "lock" it in are tight. The other adjust. knob locks just fine. Am I missing something obvious?

neither should spin without backing out the locking screws as far as I know.

Could be you have a defective unit.
Does the gap widen when you try to run grain through it?

I just switched on the bolts that hold the hopper on for the one locking the adjuster and now its solid. The only difference was the one that did not work was cleaner cut at the bottom, where the one that works is cut at a slight angle. I'll be using it tomorrow so I guess I will see how it works then.
