Whats the up/down side of one or the other? I have MFL now so I can easily switch between sankey and cornies, but for a keezer, I am thinking barbed would be fine as I would clean all lines while attached more.
 
You can clean lines in place with the MFL fittings also, they just give you the option to disassemble if you need to so I prefer em. Also, you can get special tail pieces for a sanke coupler which attach to a 1'4" MFL, so it makes switching between commercial and hombrew kegs easier.
