Kinda skimmed through looking and havent found solution..

I have a challenger iv corny that has skinner of the two size posts 11/16 i think and i got the gas to connect but none of my liquid out will catch and latch.. and ive tried 5 different ones.. same thing not latching... Any thoughts?

Are you sure it's a liquid post. I got a keg that had two liquid posts and no gas post so I ha to buy a gas post and poppet to get it to work properly. The gas post should have a groove that runs around the post in the hex head part of the post or will be 12point star shaped the liquid post will just be hex headed no groove

Ok should have mention this is 1 of my 12 kegs(first time using it though).. So yes, i even tried to hook up a gas post and that wouldnt catch.. srry if sound snobby im jus pissed dealing with it... And i got 5 gallons of rdy to drink beer in i cant get out with out transfering to another

I have several with posts like that. Did you replace the o-ring? And you're using the black disconnect for liquid out, right? Is it "fits loosely and won't latch" or "fits very tight and no matter how hard I press down it won't latch"? Because that last is what I have experienced, and I've worked through it with keg lube on the o-ring or a new o-ring.

Post size doesn't matter- I have 7/8", 11"/16" and a couple of others (metric) and they all work with the black QD. So something else is going on here.

As bigfoot there (looks like a monkey to me :cross:) said, a "too-tight" fit is different than a "too loose" fit.

You're using standard black QDs, I assume.

Lol ok yesim useing liquid lock.. its a tight nit latching.. and completly rebuilt.. my ONLY concern is that i used a unversial popet and its not allowing the ball lock to sit all the way

I could not get the universal poppet to work at all. It stood proud of the post surface. Can you switch the poppet with a regular one just to test this post?

The poppit might have too stiff a spring.
See if you can remove the poppit and then see if you can connect a qd.
Also, (not to insult you, but from personal experience) you haven't rebuilt the qd and installed it's pin upside down have you? That gave me fits :)

umm pic dosent show bu the poppet actually sits above the post a little bit.. and it has a great seal.. i went with universal cause $3 vs $8 and i got all 12 my kegs from a off brand soda maker who sold them to me for $10 each.. i just had to clean and rebuild them.. with some of them not having any other makings than cornelius on them i just went with the universal ones and this has been the only set back... my guess after settling down and thinking about it is that the universal poppet fits "most" types... so i think the Spartan keg is the exception. it seems that the poppet is to tight to allow the ball lock to push it down

thoughts?
