Hey All,

I started a mead on 23rd of Jan, recipe as follows

Water: 3.9l - Distilled
1.5kg Honey
US-05 yeast
OG - 1.092

No nutrients (I now know this is not the way to go)

I noticed last week that it was looking very clear and there was very little airlock activity so I took a gravity reading and it was at 1.05. I waited a week and took another reading and it has not moved.

Should I add nutrient at this point or is it too late? Could I try to add more or a different yeast?

Any advice is much appreciated.

An ale yeast might have quit early, especially without nutrients. You haven't hit 9% ABV yet, so it's still OK to add them now. Toss a teaspoon of DAP in there and see what happens. If you still get no action, then I'd go with a wine yeast. BTW, yeast need micronutrients like magnesium and such, so we use spring water, not distilled.
