I was brewing a batch yesterday that included 2 oz of Brewers Gold; 0.5 oz for 15 min and 1.5 oz for 3 min.

I opened the first ounce and used half for the first addition.

I opened the second ounce in prep for the second addition and it smelled off.
Like really off.
Like moldy, musty damp cardboard off.
The pellets were much lighter in color than the pellets from the first sachet.

Needless to say I didn't think that adding horrible smelling hops would somehow make the beer better I only did a 0.5 addition for 3 min.

The recipe calls for a 0.4 oz cascade dry hop and I was wondering if I should get another ounce of brewers gold and, after ensuring no issues, add it as a dry hop along with the cascade.

It depends what you are looking for as far as flavor profile. Citra is a popular hop to use in dry hopping, Brewer's Gold, not so much, maybe there's a reason for that?
