Does anyone have info on the background of the variations of the Chico strain? Like bells, pacman, stone’s yeast, etc?

Some research I’ve seen has yeasts like stone coming from a brewery in Canada

Does its origins go back to England or Germany possibly?

Any ideas?

BRY-96, accession number in the Siebel yeast bank, the yeast used by the Ballantine beer brewery in Newark (that is, used to produce their lagers -- the ale brewery used the yeast designated BRY-97.)
