I just purchased a auto siphon and noticed it created a lot of bubbles in the line as I moved from primary to secondary. I then read last night to keep aeration as low a possible during racking. After I pulled the siphon I found a wood chip in the end that might have created this situation. When I pulled sanitizer through it there were no bubbles, so hopefully this will not happen again.

Any thoughts about adding O2 this late in the stage? What I am trying to avoid?

And not about the need for secondary; I've seen this topic alot on here!

You'd like to avoid aeration if at all possible. You'll probably want to drink this batch sooner rather than later, just in case.

Note that a lot of time, you get bubbling due to an imperfect seal in the auto siphon - you can always pour a little sanitized water down the tube, and that will prevent this. if that is your issue.

Next time, put a clamp or a tie on the spot where the extension hose connects to the end of the auto siphon and see the tiny bubbles that once were go bye bye. That is, if you didn't have another issue that was causing it, like an obstructed or dirty line.
