Hey gang,

I am about half way through my IPA and it seems the aroma and hop flavor is starting to fade. What is the trick to keep them around a bit longer?

Here are the particulars
Rock IPA
12 lbs Pale Malt
12 oz Crystal 20
.75 oz Columbus 45 mins
.5 oz Chinook 45 mins
.5 oz Nugget 45 mins
1.0 oz Centennial steep after flame out for 20 mins
1.5 oz Centennial dry hop 10 days
.25 oz Chinook dry hop 10 days

3 weeks in the fermenter, 10 days additional dry hop
It's been in the keg for 4 weeks now

Any advice?
Rick

Joking aside, it looks like a nice recipe. Hoppy beers are best fresh. That aroma doesn't hang around forever, but 4 weeks sounds a little short to be losing aroma. Did you have any trouble with getting the keg to seal? Sometimes when you have to vent the keg and repressurize, that can blow aroma off of the beer.

Cheers!

hop it like an IPA not APA? < 3oz of late hops isn't gunna cut it

like the soupnazi said, dry hopping in the keg helps too
