Hi,

So I am pretty new to brewing. My swmbo seems to be gaining a little interest in it too, which is great. I decided to brew a batch just for her, since I have been brewing IPAs, which she doesn't like.

It old her to pick a recipe and she picked this one.

It calls for 6.5oz of apricot extract! That sounds like overkill, even for a beer intended to be a gateway beer for my wife.

Should I go with the whole amount? Should I just add one 4oz bottle? Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Add it at bottling and gently stir it in. Taste and add more if she wants. Everytime you add more add a smaller amount and you can dial it in. I do this with hazelnut extract with great success. Also works well with lactose additions.

I have not done apricot but I did a blueberry using extract. I added 3oz to the bottling bucket. I tasted as I added. Ended up a little heavy on the flavor, but still a good beer. Cheers!
