I had an OG of 1.090. It was left in primary until OG dropped by 2/3 (or 10d whichever come first), then transferred to carboy and airlock attached at this time.
I did the same thing as saramc. I brought my sg up to 1.092 and fermented it dry to .992 then transferred it to another carboys. Since I used unfiltered apple juice, I will need to mix in some superkleer to clear it.
