I bought some of this the other day and am NOT a big fan. I am not really sure what it is, but there is some kind of taste that i can't get used to. I see on the label it says it is a white ale, i am assuming it is like a belgian wit? I would really like to know so i don't brew anything that will have that taste.

Whats interesting is i found a website that describes all kind of beer styles and they label the Great lakes, hoogarden, and blue moon in the same category. I haven't had the hoogarden, but blue moon does not have this wierd taste to it, and i would love to try a blue moon clone for the summertime. Anyone have any experience with the belgian beers?

yeah, thats the only beer out of their lineup I dont (nor anyone I know) like. Wish they would take it out of their sampler pack!

I think it does taste much like Blue Moon and Hoegarden, but worse. I think that "bad" flavor is the coriander taste. I don't care for any of those beers, but the Holy Moses is the worst of them.

im a fan, send it to chicago. its not my favorite Wit by any stretch of the imagination, but I definitely prefer it to Hoegaarden and Coors Moon.

great lakes makes some great beer but holy moses isn't one of their best. imo, they went too heavy on the bittering hops. masks some of the more subtle elements that are supposed to be at the forefront of a witbier - yeast and spice. victory, flying dog, and ommegang all make solid wits, but my favorite has to be blanch de chambly.

blanche is mine and SWMBO's favorite too probably. I'm also a Bell's Winter White fan.
