Planning on using a keg with some sort of pressure relief system, either of my own design or one from brewers hardware, and use it for fermenting.

I've been searching for a while and short of using a dedicated fridge with some thermostat set up how else do you maintain temp control on a keg for fermenting? I was thinking of using a large trash can and water with a t-shirt but had hoped for something more elegant.

What methods am I missing?

I should clarify that I have no basement or any other temperature-stable area other than the house interior which is constantly at 69 during the cooler months and around 78 in the summer. 69 is pushing it and 78 is almost definitely too warm for more aggressive fermentation
