BYO recently featured a trap door keezer design. Has anyone attempted to build one of these? It looks great and the trap door design solves the problem of needing to pull a keezer with towers away from the wall in order to open it.

I just picked up a 10.2 cu foot Insignia and was planning to build a collar, but I am wondering if the trap door build is worth the additional trouble. My main concerns about the collar design are the extra height you have to lift kegs an reach in to clean and adjust, as well as the potential for the protruding tap handles to be accidentally turned on.

I've seen a few tower and coffin top keezers designed with split tops of various styles. You can find them via google using
'site:homebrewtalk.com split keezer'...

Cheers!
