A light with a globe is nice and bright
but not as pleasant as candlelight
So I think that a candle can
be the answer to this riddle, Dan?

Edit: you beat me whilst I was typing, @FatDragon !

Oops...should be
FatDragon, FatDragon, your answer was fast
You got in first, my opportunity past

My first is a child, hard to control,
Or perhaps some things making out in a pool.
It might be some animals out of the zoo,
Or in casual poker, all cards numbered two.

My second's the last word some men ever hear,
In a theater, not one you want to hear.
Out in the woods, built of leaves, twigs, and logs,
It warms your bones as it cooks your hot dogs.

The answer's one word, but one like a bug's eye,
Which today sent my poor sister's house to the sky.

It seems my turn
So here is my riddle
On which you may diddle
While I water my fern

I have fallen from grace
And into this place
From which is no return
Now you must learn
Despite my kind face
Faith in me will burn

Ok I know I’m not getting this one right
But here’s my answer for tonight
Somebody much smarter will get the answer though
Just throwing mine out like new fallen snow

Rain
Earth
Fire
Sun
Love
That’s my answer son

I’m not yet ready to retire
I’ll give another shot
Hellfire

Fire doesn’t really have a kind face though
Strike two

I’m sure Fatdragon that you have it right.
I’ve avoided this thread fearing my intellect slight.
Beermanpete is the master of this riddle though.
Watch out for the next for I won’t be so slow.

I offer a bit of a departure from the norm,
Not exactly a riddle in its form,
A mixture of crossword, rebus, and pun,
At the very least, I hope that it's fun.

The land of fire and brimstone + an expression of surprise
Not an enlisted man
An ocular organ + "that's delicious!"
Twisted wood
Imbibed
Fair and righteous
The first of the 'bet
What Charlie did to 'me'
Rotating pneumatic cushion + Delta

If you've been driving
And you're seeing double,
It's what you might say
To stay out of trouble.

I doubt this time I can get this into rhyme
But would like to discuss
Your biggest clue was rebus
And ending line made it true
If I’m wrong boohoo boohoo

“Hell officer I’m not drunk”

I can show my work if you like
That it wasn’t a guess, I think I’m right

I think to the the clues that’s true
All I can get next is

“Just open”

That’s my best’s

Maybe my riddle mind is broken
So many here much smarter than me
Answer the rest of the question please

And I reserve the right to be wrong
on my partial answering song[emoji56]

Six point eight out of the nine,
But can you finish out the line?

Your first's one letter short of heaven,
Then you've got it until seven.
Those last three you haven't got;
Perhaps they're too obscure, p'raps not.

Hell is short, hello is right
I can also get 'a high' tonight.
'Hello officer, I'm not drunk, just a high' I get
The last I'm afraid eludes me as yet

Two steps forward, one step back,
You got two letters, but two words still lack.

I muffed it up in my last post,
'twas five point eight, not six at most.
Now you're at seven, two more to go,
But something pneumatic has yet to show.

Ah ha!

Hello officer I’m not drunk just

The first of the ‘bet
Aphabet

A

Rotating pneumatic cusion

Tire

Delta
D

Hello officer I’m not drunk just a little tired

How did I do. WooHoo![emoji3]

I’m pretty sure I got
What Charlie did to 'me'

Correct. But not sure my though process was spot on. I just figured neither any Charlie I knew or the Vietcong Charlie did nothing to me nothing zero well a little.

'Twas 'Charlie bit me', the YouTube phenom,
That completes the puzzle (without much aplomb).

"Hello officer, I'm not drunk, just a bit tired."
A mediocre puzzle that would get Will Shortz fired.
I should have gone with a quote of some fame;
'twould have been a better way to play the game…

You started the answer and finished it too,
Grandmaster Dan, the next round's on you!

FatDragon , GnomeBrewer ...I didn’t get it quite right. Not sure I deserve to post a riddle tonight

But I will![emoji3]

It’s nothing tough four this riddling crew
But best I could come up with and it isn’t original too
Not the riddle but I put on a rhyme spindle

A woman with no scorn shoots her husband
Then holds him under water above land
Next she hangs him where there is no light
Because not to do so could cause her financial blight
After this significant event does occur
The two have a nice dinner for sure, for sure
What is this woman and what is her husband
I’ll give no distraction that they’re just cousins

Please muse me and all in a rhyming answer
To this riddle says my bobcat Lancer
Explain most of it and your a pretty big hit
To this riddling rhyme place; that’s legitimate

With humble and due respect
FatDragon you are 100 percent correct
There is some some colored light
That’s a big clue to the riddle tonight

FatDragon knows that answer clear
He’s given a good hint to steer
And you GnomeBrewer are halfway there
You just gotta climb one more stair

FatDragon knows that answer clear

You just gotta climb one more stair

And by one more stair that’s not to throw you off
It’s meant as encouragement I’m not a sloth

It's been a while
So let's not dawdle:
She's a photog,
He's her model.
She takes his pic,
Develops it,
'ere at the table
They both sit.

@Gnomebrewer, you had it true,
Although you didn't follow through.
The next riddle should come from you:
Now you know what you've got to do.

I form in an instant but I last a quite a while
I can bring tears to your eyes; or make you smile
