You're into bitters, so there's always Ron Pattinson's blog. It's a gloriously shambolic disaster area with absolutely no organization, but it's a treasure trove for UK-inspired brewers.

If you're into astronomy and the physics that go along with it, I'm a bit of a fan of Ask a Spaceman. Sutter can be a bit annoying about saying we're going to have to talk about math and it can be confusing, but he eventually gets down to brass tacks and talks about the math in an approachable fashion. It's the podcast that I look forward to the most.

Thru the Bible, American Scandal, Business Wars, NPR's State of the World and Talking Real Money are my go to podcasts. Did the first seven years of Basic Brewing Radio but haven't listened to that in a while. Quality program though, especially when they do tastings and can't stop giggling.

I watched a YouTube documentary about how DuPont and its spin-off companies have poisoned the entire planet with PFAS. In order to produce Teflon, one of the most stable and non reactive compounds on the planet, they created some of the most dangerous and reactive compounds on the planet and then dumped them into rivers and landfills for decades where they have been taken up into the atmosphere and leeched into our water. This results in virtually every living thing on earth having these compounds in their tissues. Including me and you. They are in our water, our packaging, paper goods, coffee cups, water pipes, personal products, medical implants, paint, contact lenses. You name it. I will never microwave popcorn again.

A while back I was in the habit of forwarding individual episodes of certain podcasts to my dad. Episodes I knew that would interest him even though I don’t think he would like to follow the entire series. One that I always seemed to fit were the more literary or historical episodes of the Meat Eater podcast. I haven’t listened to it in a while, but need to get back on it.
Here is one of the first ones I sent him back in early 2024…
