la flor dominicana chisel is a fav, gotta have double ligero!

I have one of these coming in today :D ! I can't wait to try it before work. It is nice seeing a lot of Fuente fans though. Definitely make all of my favorite sticks. Had a WOAM last night for the first time. It was a great smoke but you almost can't beat their cameroon wrappers! It would be cool to trade some sticks if anyone is interested. I am on BA as paulv as well.

Up until the purchase of our new house last fall, I was spending more time and money on my cigar hobby than my brewing hobby. Believe it or not, brewing has been the cheaper hobby! I haven't even looked at the foreign websites for my mail-order cubans in months!

I still break out a good cigar when entertaining friends. Although I'm down to about 15 (from a box of 50) for the 06 party shorts that are so delicious... The 08 Sig I's are just coming around now though...

All of the domestics I have are yard gars. I'm lucky to get through half of one before pitching it into the firepit...

I'm more in to the Pineapple White Owls ;)
If you enjoy flavored ones, you should try my stores brand name flavored cigars... the John T's "Sweet T's"... We have a Rum & Cola, Strawberry Daquiri, Cherry Cream, Peach Whiskey, Chocolate Mint Martini, Cappucino, ect... All rolled pipe tobacco with a honey & rum tip... That is if you prefer something more flavored or aromatic...

That was sarcassm. Lately my tastes have been focused on Rocky Patel's Old Work Reserve and Gurkha's Black Dragon.

Be weary, cubans have a HUGE fake market any some massive percentage of Cubans in central american countries are fakes. Cubans have such a good market to sell their limited product in that they don't need to sell them to sketchy dealers in tourist areas of third world countrys

That's one of the reasons I limit myself to Cohibas when travelling. They issue "licenses" to their dealers, who display them to show that they are selling authentic Cohibas.
The last time I was in Jamaica, my ex and I went to a duty-free market, and i found a cigar shop sell "Cohiba Habanas", and when I asked to see his license, I got a song-and-dance. I left, went to another dealer a few doors down, and saw HIS license proudly displayed...and bought a half dozen.

You are probably right, i knewI wasn't positive when I posted. I'll take out the humidor, check it out and maybe post more pics. I havnt bought a cigar in about 6 months ad havnt smoked one in about 4. Damn finances killing my hobbies!

Ever find out what these are?

Cigars and Beer <<<<<<< Click here, listen, drink, smoke, & enjoy

This week on the Session (they) talk about pairing cigars and beer with cigar professionals Brian Berman of Cigar Rights of America and Pete Johnson from Tatuaje. (We'll) learn about the parallels of craft beer and fine cigars and how the two can be paired perfectly for tastings.

This is awesome, a must hear.

Figured I'd resurrect this thread.

Just starting brewing, but I've been into cigars and pipes for years. I've got 6 pipes, and about 200 cigars. I am also big into Fuente Sungrowns, and my favorite cigar this year has probably been the Queen B by AF, with Cubao by EO in a close 2nd.

And I hate to burst bubbles, but those pictures of Cuban cigars, are pictures of fake Cuban cigars.

I work for Drew Estate, a cigar company based in Miami. I used to review cigars on a blog I had, and it turned into a job. I LOVE cigars.

Drew Estate, those cigars are Nasty.

I'm guessing you've had our ACID line and some of our other infused cigars, correct? We also make some incredible traditional cigars, particularly our Liga Privada line. If you like EO's cigars, you'll like ours.

I've had a few DE infused cigars, not my thing, but if I was gonna smoke an infused cigar it would be from DE.

I do smoke the JdN's, I think those are DE?

i used to be an avid cigar collector, but the financial burden had me get out of it. I was also pretty heavy into pipes. Some Dunhills, Butz Choquins, couple Big Ben's, Savenelli, etc. Anyhow, my favorite cigars have to be La Gloria Cubano, Oliva and Padron, then Fonseca on the cuban side. I could never afford anything other then a Fonseca Cosaco's or #1 on the cuban side. Had a few boxes of them from time to time. Authentic cubans are getting harder and harder to come by now days. So many fakes out there.

Love cigars and pipes. Cigars for golfing, pipes for any other time. Usually frequent my local tobacconist (Iwan Ries on Wabash). They have good house blend tobaccos and a nice smoking room for getting out of the cold Chicago winters.

i do enjoy a nice cigar, and by nice i mean cheap. i've come the the conclusion that i will always be too poor to be able to afford to smoke em. la glorias are my favorites. i like a good pipe too, but i haven't found a tobacco shop around my area that has anything i like.

I poicked up pipes for a while early this year. Loved the complexities of the smoke and the options. hated that by time I got enough Nicotine form the smoke my throat felt like it was coated in tar. Even with filters.

I'll keep my pipes and I'll keep the tobaccos I have collected stored well so that if another day comes I get the urge for a nice flavored smoke I can pull em out and light up.

In fact, a smoke and a brandy sounds good right about now.

I don't like flavored anything really, but the ACIDs sound intriguing to me. I was talked out of them last time I was at the store. Ive been hooked on the Ashton Heritage Puro Sols lately. I did have an Alec Bradley Presnado that was really good the other day.

I have been smoking cigars since I was 18. I have a 100 cigar humidor that I keep relatively full. I only smoke once or twice a week. my wife can't stand the smell of them so I have to plan my smoking time. I recently smoked a Gurkha Ruination which was delicious.

I hear some people say they don't smoke cigars and drink beer at the same time because the cigar masks the beer's flavor. I find both the beer and the cigar tastes different when had together but it isn't worse. It is just different. If I were reviewing a cigar or a beer for the first time, then no, I wouldn't have them together. But if I am already familiar with them then I enjoy having them together because it becomes a new tasting experience.

I love a cigar and a drink but it really does change the flavor. I have had some beers before that I didn't really like at all but with the right cigar it was actually pretty damn good.

I had some Johnny Walker Black with an Aruturo Feunte Anejo the other night, and that is a great combo.

I've been known to smoke a few cigars, mostly when I can get them from an island south of Miami, but Rocky Patel's are great, as well. Right now I have some PSD4's and Bolivar Royal Coronas that are keeping me happy. I think that cigars, unlike wines, really do improve in quality with the price.

When the economy crashed in 2008 I broke out some pipes I had inherited from a great uncle and started smoking them since, as people have noted, it's a lot cheaper. My wife likes it better, too, but I'd prefer a nice cigar most of the time.

Don't smoke much or often, but I like Thomas Hinds. I also get Cohibas and Romeo y Julietas a couple times a year. I find I enjoy them most with IPAs (under 50 IBUs though) and drier stouts.
