Secondary Fermentation of my Vanilla Winter Bourbon Ale is looking clean and good...

The Chocolate Stout? Not so much... I've seen small form bubbles and stuff like that... but I see what looks like... small flecks of solidified lard/fat on the top, along with these white bubbles.

The secondary was filled with some Double Chocolate Stout brew... and sopem fresh Cacao Nibs...

I thought I'd ask the field.

Whatta ya think?

I seem to think I've had that before, especially with a dark beer like a porter. How long has it been in the primary? Did you give it a taste? When I get nervous I always give it a taste, that usually calms my fears.

That looks like the top of my grain bed after I vorlof in my MLT. What does it smell like?

Smells like almost-beer. A little chemically/ammonia smelling I guess... but I may be reaching with that one. More like just alcohol.

It's dark, and I feel confident it'll be allright. Haven't tried it yet. Gonna drop some gelatin in the batches I have ready to go and put to kegs soon...

Makes me more conerned cause it's next to my darker vanilla bourbon ale and it's crystal clear in there... probably due to the large amount of jim beam in there...
