I was making a starter using wyeast 1388,smacked the pack and waited 3hours. When I went to get the pack I noticed it was not as fat as I remembered.(I know that should have raised many red flags but alas it didn’t)I sanitized the pack gave it a shake and poured, that’s when I saw the unbroken pack inside. So I cut a corner and poured. I shook the crap out of the starter then came here to ask if this will work or should I make a new starter.
Boy this rookie crap is getting old,but I shall learn and remember.

I wouldn't worry about this. I have done the same think with my beer. after doing research, the inside pack is nutrients, so with pouring that into your beer it should still be good. The one I did came out fine, surprising.

reason for my research was it was not expanding as normal. So I thought I had a dude, Come to find out, my nutrient pack did not bust.
edit: if you are truly curious, give it some time and watch closely, if you you see know active, check gravity.

so I am not the only person in the world to have this happen lol.
this is my first attempt at making a starter. The next one will be done correctly darn it..I will pitch tomorrow and see what happens.
