Ammonia smell

Wow, I keep my hop and grain bag in a sealed plastic bag, I just went to open it and they both reeked like ammonia. So I'm boiling the crap out of it before I use it for anything else. Anybody else had this happen?
 
No. How exactly are you storing these things and in what form are they? Hop pellets, crushed grains, etc.

If it smells like ammonia, it will taste like ammonia. Throw it out.
 
Just get another bag. They aren't that expensive. Ammonia can be produced as a waste product by various bacteria.
