I use the plastic clamps i mentioned earlier on many of my hose connections to camlocks which are by far my predominant connections to kettles, pumps and CFC’s with no issues.
I you like games of chance I got triclamp bits from Ali express cheaper than I could find cam locks here. Going to order some more special bits from brew hardware though
A prior job left me with a lifetime supply of large zip ties. They're really effective on softer materials like silicone. They grip effectively and they don't cut into the hose.
Just to follow up: As a result of the feedback I received from everyone above, I ended up going with camlocks. I got @Bobby_M to weld male camlocks to the ends of my immersion chiller, and then got female camlocks for the silicone tubing. I just got it welded last week and have already brewed two batches on it, and I couldn't be happier. It has sped up the process, with no tools needed, and no leaking.
I even put a garden-hose threaded camlock on the end of my utility sink, which connects to additional 6' of silicone tubing that I use to fill my kettle and spray-clean my equipment. It handles the heat and is food-safe. I can also squeeze the end of the tubing with my finger to get a high-pressure blast. Simple, but wonderful upgrade. Thanks all.
Now I just need to upgrade my pump and pump tubing to camlocks...
