So Coolship is $15, what was Spon? I cant imagine it was that much cheaper to justify the hassle it took to get...

$20/375ml, $36 750.

God I wish Allagash would do 750s of Resurgam. And I'd straight up murder someone for a magnum. Their rigidity with the format is pretty much my only major complaint, especially now that the batches seem to be so huge. Come on guys! Definitely exciting to see a new fruit variant though.

I'm dying for them to release an unblended oude coolship. Or put some on a beer engine for release. Fruit is cool but boring. Lets see some still and unblended barrel treatment stuff from Allagash! Maybe get some cool barrels from Ned.

I think they served that at Wild Friendship blend? Or was it Allgash all-stars event? Or maybe I am misremembering.

I went to both, and neither event had it. I think they have served it to folks straight from the barrel on some of the special tours, etc. before, but I'm not sure they've ever packaged it for serving.

WFB had unblended Cantillon.

Ok yeah, definitely just confused. Prob thinking of the cantillon i had while at Allagash.

Yes that would be rad to try. Bummed they did the VIP tour after I moved.

I was going to say, if that was at All Stars and tehzachatak and I missed it, I would have a new top regret.

Clermont will be cool for sure, but lets see some weirdo barrels. Liquer de noix, sigh, a boy can dream.

I'll be excited to try Clermont fresh. I didn't get to try SBO until last year, so clearly not as fresh as could be, but wasn't super impressed honestly. Hoping a more bourbon-forward freshie will change my mind.

This thread has me seriously hankering. Has anyone had a Belfius recently? I have one left, thinking I might crack it tonight.

Remind me in like... 5 hours. Then we can cybersip

I'd drink this sooner rather than later. Tasty, very bretty. Coolship finally kicking in a little more...

Yeah, more funk than I remember fresh. Lots of carb when I opened it, took a while to settle in the glass. Lightly tart, relatively dry finish which I dig. I could drink a bunch of this. One bottle left (I think)

Can anyone who has had both Spon and Resurgam compare the two? Curious as to why there's so much fanfare about the Jester King "gueuze" while Resurgam sat on the shelf for a few weeks. I sense it's because Allagash doesn't command the hype/attention in the same way, but maybe I'm wrong.

To respond to my own question, the GF and I are just now finishing a bottle of Spon and Resurgam.

There's a bitterness to Spon (grapefruit rind) that lingers on the palate. There's a mild funk and nice brightness to it. Really soft, low carb.

Resurgam is way more carbonated. I get grape musk and lemon zest; there's a nice mineral quality too. It's easier on the palate but probably less complex than Spon.

Which Spon blend? I thint it was blend 2 that I found had a lot of astringency from the high hopping rates.

Was really hoping this release was going to be this weekend. ISO for sure - if anybody grabs extras that they're willing to trade that is...

I'm sending two friends...should they get in line early or is this the type of release that you can waltz in at 2pm and still get the allotment?

For most of their releases, getting there at 2PM would be fine. This one might be a little different though seeing as the two beers have never been done before (unless you consider SBO the same as Clermont), they're coolships, and they're 1pp.
