Airlock mistake

When I first put the airlock on my plastic bucket after brewing, I forgot to add the piece that covers the tube in the center. I did not notice until 48 hours after. Is this a big problem since oxygen can get in and how might it effect the finished beer? I gave the wort a gentle stir and replaced the airlock correctly.
 
It will be fine. There should be enough CO2 blowing out that it would be next to impossible for anything to fall in.
 
You have essentially done what some on here have adopted as the "foil method". Just a simple cap over the top seems (judging by the number of threads and posts) to be better for the fermentation.
 
I did that once and wondered why there were no signs of bubbling. Then I found the airlock piece near my sink.
