Ive been doing homebrewing for a little over two years and i still have an issue sometimes with getting out the 6.5 size airlock bung out of the glass carboy. So far i have broken 3 airlocks pulling on it trying to get the air lock and bung out at the same time or at least one of them. I used to pry a small screwdriver in there but realized i could be slowly chipping the glass so i dont do that. I usually put it in there flush or slightly above the lip of the carboy. What has worked for you guys?, sometimes it can be a pain
