Anone tried it? Is it very similar to liberty ale?

Could I use the recomended dry yeast isntead with similar results.

Thanks for any input!!!

I've tried it and it was good after a couple months' conditioning. For my pallette, the German Magnum bittering hops were a little much especially when it was still green, and there wasn't a lot of hop flavor or aroma... it was mostly bitterness. I could drink it comfortably after a couple months.

I've never tried Liberty so I can't compare. If you're looking for a bitter IPA, it'll do the trick. If you're looking for a little more complex hop profile, I might recommend picking up a couple oz of Willamette or similar hop to go along with the kit. It comes with 1 oz of Magnum for bittering, and 1 oz of Tettnang to be split at 15 and 5 minutes. If I did it again, I'd drop the bittering hops to ~.75 oz and add 1/2 oz of Willamette at the same time as the Tettnang, and then dryhop with 1 oz of Willamette.

But that's just my two cents.
