My wife Nancy and I are relatively new to home brewing. We have about eight batches of beer experience all done with kits. We have a 56' sailing catamaran and one of the things we noticed in cruising is if you provision with cases of beer in bottles or cans you keep that volume of stuff aboard until you carry it back off in bags of empties. To cut down on the trash and conserve space for other things we decided to get some ball lock kegs. As we prepared for weeks of cruising in the Bahamas we've made 15 gallons of beer to take with us. I won't have it in time for this cruise but I am designing a custom kegerator/cooler to accomodate our kegs. Right now we'll have to figure out a way to transfer beer to something that will fit in our rather small refrigerator units or coolers. We're thinking PET soda pop bottles with tap-a-draft taps. I'm going to search the forums for solutions to our brew-cruising challenges. We are setting Southern Passage up as a charter business and I thought it would be nice to offer clients a selection of beer to have aboard made to their order. Fair winds and following seas from Capt. Steve and Nancy!
