I saw this. I made the Hopfather recipe from Extreme Brewing which rang in at roughly 100 IBUs, and was wondering how a beer would taste that was nearly 3x that hoppy. The thing is, I dont want to create a whole batch for just myself so a friend and I are going in half on it. I am pretty interested to see what it is like. 287 IBUs is stupid hoppy! Who on here has made it?

they say that only about 100 ibu's can actually make it into solution...you'll have to let us know how it comes out.

Also, I feel sorry for whoever has to clean the hop residue out of your brew kettle! How many gallons of wort will 19oz of hop pellets absorb??

This is a limited edition kit. When we run out the kit will no longer be available. We should be able to make it to the end of the month.

brewed mine last weekend, racking over to the secondary today, looking foward to when this is done and drinkable

I made this July 3rd - mini mash kit. It was really cool to receive a BOX O HOPS! It was very good! Reminded me of Saranac Imperial IPA. It didn't feel 260 ibus but definitely full of hops.

Yes: you're going to lose a lot of liquid to hop trub :)

The beer itself was fantastic. I expected it to be painfully hoppy/bitter, but it was actually just plain delicious.

just kegged mine 2 weeks ago and taped the keg this week, wow o wow it is awesome. I only got about 3 1/2 gals of beer in the end due to the thick layer of yeasts and hops in both the primary and secondary fermentors. good luck and enjoy
