As the title says I have a pretty strong fermentation going on right now with a winter warmer. I was out for about 6 hrs today and came home and noticed the airlock had some beer and gunk in it and the lid of the bucket had some beer on it. Is the next move to get a new airlock ready and just swap? Any risk in keeping the current one on there until the morning?

Just use a blowoff tube. Just stick the hose into the hole in the bucket/stopper and put the other end In a container with sanitizer in it. Make sure it sits on the same level as or below your fermenter so you don't get suck back and empty the container into your beer.

You could clean that one and put it back, but things still might get worse. Might wanna cover that bucket with a tarp.

+1 to blow off tube

You don't want a clogged airlock and beer all over the room...
