Hello, I currently have a Black Porter fermenting in the carboy. I think I lost about a half a gallon of beer after adding the yeast. It came out as foam through the tube and into the pot. When its done and before bottling is it okay to add water? Or should I just bottle what I have? Does it affect the overall flavoring of the beer? :mug:

Bottle what you have. Adding water can run the risk of introduction oxygen or an infection. Try to ferment in a larger bucket or carboy if you can to minimize this.

If you want to thin out your beer by adding water, you should boil it for 20 minutes (or so) first. But you probably just want to bottle what you have.
