adding sugar

Haven't ever added sugar before and a recipe I'd like to use says:

15 lb Pale Ale Malt
6oz Caravienne
1 lb turbinado sugar (10 min)

before listing the hops


does that mean add the sugar with 10 minutes left in the boil?

You got it. When there are only 10 minutes left in the boil add the sugar.

Yes that is what it means. Just remember sugar will boost ABV while thinning the body out.
