Well, I have a number of Mr Beer extract kits and lately I have been brewing all grain batches and was wondering if I could add some specialty grains to these extracts to give them a little something 'extra'..Here are a few I was thinking of 'tinkering' with and would like some feedback and suggestions of what specialty grains to add(as Mr Beer now sells small grain quantities):
Baltic Porter
Imperial Red Ale
Helles Bock
ESB
Winter Dark Ale
Bavarian Weissbeir
Aztec Mexican Cerveza

Would it be worth 'kicking it up' some, or just leave them as is? Thanks

It depends on the recipe you already have.

to add something without knowing what is already in there is like asking, "Does this recipe for meatloaf need salt?".

I mean, maybe. If there is no salt in there already, then yes it may need some salt. But if there is already salt in there, then maybe not.

A beer recipe is the same. Without knowing what is already in there, we can't tell you if adding something is a good idea or not.
