Adding DME to primary after fermentation starts

I'm brewing a double IPA and gravity came in low. It started fermentation for about 18 hours and I added 2lbs of DME diluted in 4 cups boiling water to primary. Will the gravity still increase ? Or have I made a mistake ?

Unless you beer was about 1.250 OG, yes the gravity will increase . You shouldn't have any issues.

Gravity was 1.060 and was going for 1.084. So hopefully I get there. Thanks for the response.
