I have read some posts that give some helpful tips. But the question I don't know the answer to is this. Is the Taprite regulator found here http://www.bvrgelements.com/product/Taprite-Dual-Gauge-CO2-Regulator/ a left thread and if so can I purchase another one of these and add a regulator to this one? If there is a post that discusses this I may have overlooked it so I apologize in advance and in any case thanks gang!

I am about to do this myself. For the price of a 2 way distributor I can add another regulator. seems like a no-brainer.

What do you have now? Just the one taprite? If you buy two primary then you will have an extra high pressure gauge. You should look at adding a secondary and then move the high pressure gauge to the new one.

I went to two regulators last year. Very easy. Also, very handy to have two different pressures already dialed in for different uses.

on a related question... Do you need to have a ball valve on the output or can you just dial the pressure to zero?

Sorry gang I have been busy. Thanks for the replies. I like having two different pressures, or the idea of it. Some beers need a little more carb than others. Yes Flips I have one taprite the exact one found on the link on the OP.

It sounds like buy a new one and adding it to the existing one is pretty simple I will just be left with a high pressure gauge.

You will also need a nipple to connect the two. I believe that the taprites are all left handed threads on the high pressure side. If that is true then you can do exactly the same thing I ordered. Keep in mind I haven't put the parts together yet, so I could find an issue down the road. I have a old perlick without a high pressure gauge so now I will have two regs and a high pressure gauge.

This is my first order from CHI Company. The prices on their overstock are great. This shipping ($14 for me) does eat some of that savings... but still overall a nice savings.

Just to get back to the original question. If you already own the first regulator then then unscrew the high pressure gauge from the side of the regulator and check the thread direction (after removing from tank of course!). This way you know for sure what you have.
