I am just about to order this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/RANCO-ETC-11100...ultDomain_0&hash=item1c13831b53#ht_2440wt_911

Can anyone tell me a good reason not to? I am terrible with electronics (best achievement was installing a ceiling fan). Is there anything else (besides an extension cord) that I should need that isn't included in this offer? Thanks much. Also, I have been trying to link to this page:

http://www.brewboard.com/index.php?showtopic=40898

for guidance on how to install this beast but none of the pics will show up! Is this just my comp or what? Thanks so much for any insight!

Run the sensor into the fridge...plug it in and plug the fidge into it and set it. That's all there is to it. Just remember this controls power to the fridge so when the fridge is at desired temp, the light won't go on when you open the door :)

Well I will have to do all the wiring beforehand, right? It seems to be pretty straightforward. The power cord gets plugged into the outlet, I then plug the fridge into the female end of that same power cord. If the wiring is all correct I am good to go, yes?

Set your the thermostat that with the refrigerator to it's lowest setting so they don't conflict with each other.

If by lowest you mean coldest setting then yeah. If you mean lowest numbered and warmest setting then I don't think that is right. I may be wrong here but I think you want to set the thermostat in the frindge to the max or coldest setting so it cools faster. This controller will shut ALL power off to the fridge once this controller reads the set temperature has been reached on its own temperature probe. When it senses the temperature has gone up above the set amount it will kick power back to the fridge and it will start to cool.

I have the exact same one and it works perfect. You will need to wire the plug into the controller, not too difficult. Instructions will come with the unit.
