Hi.
Last sunday, we've brewed a nettle beer. The ingredients were: The juice of boiled down nettles, lemon, ginger, fructose and dextrose. OG: 1.043 We used a poweryeaststarter (poweryeast, yeastsalt, citric acid & fruit juice) We just followed the instructions on the pot of yeast. When we added the yeast starter to our wort, there was already a layer of foam on the starter, so we assumed it was ready to add. But now, 48 hours later, we don't see any acitivity in the glass fermenter. No airlock-activity, no bubbles rising to the surface, no foamlayer. Also, we had a quick smell and it didnt smell like yeast. So does anyone know if nettlebeer takes longer to start fermenting? Or what else could be wrong?
