I very recently received a Muntons wheat beer kit as a gift. The instructions say to add 2.2 pounds of table sugar in order to reach 4.6% ABV. If I leave the 2.2 pounds of table sugar out and use LME or DME instead, how much of either one of those two much better ingredient would it take me to reach 6% ABV instead of only the advertised weaker 4.6% ABV? I prefer to keep my homebrew beers right around 6% ABV as not to be either too weak or too strong.
