hey guys

i bought the Tooheys micro brew kit and it came with special draught brewing kit (1.7kg) and 1kg brewiser liquid sugar

it says in the instructions that "if using a liquid brewing sugar or malt extract instead of sugar, then reading is usually higher at 1012

currently at night 9 the brew is at 1.016 for the past 24 hours

the temp is pretty constant at 22 C

the air lock is still bubbling but not as much as before

what's going on? has it finished brewing? can i bottle it?

thanks guys

I'd say it's done. 1.006 is really REALLY dry for a beer. 1.012 is usually the norm for most recipes, but it can stop at a higher reading. Gently swirl the fermenter then let it go for two more days and take another reading. If it still reads 1.012 then it's done and you can bottle. If you post all the ingredients of the recipe we can help you better.

Also 22ºC is on the highside to ferment beers. For your next batch, try to get the fermentation to a lower temp like 18-20ºC

And welcome to the forum!
