I am building a panel with a 6/4 cable entry and have decided to hard wire the cable into the panel instead of using a plug and socket. Less cost, failure points, size etc. I thought it would be easy to find an appropriate cable gland/strain relief for an electrical box but it’s not.
the two sizes are an M32 which has a clamping range of 0.63 - 0.83” or an M40 which has a clamping range of 0.9 - 1.26”. From what I see on the web, the diameter of 6/4 SOOW cable is 0.845-1.0”.
Are most people using the M40 size Cable gland successfully? I don’t want cable movement outside the box causing movement of wires inside.
