I know I looked for insight in the past and had a hard time finding info, so here's my recent experience. Read a few articles, but they all seemed a little ambiguous.

Observation on a 3 day carb.

On Monday night (day 1 @ approx 8pm) took 68F beer and transfer to keg. Put into kegger @ 38F on 40PSI and left until Wednesday morning (approx 8am ~36 hours). I did not shake, roll, or do anything to the keg except purge well. ON Weds morning, purged keg down to 20psi and left on 20 psi until Thursday night approx 8:30 pm(~36 hours).

Carb was pretty close (blonde ale), maybe just a tad high initially. First few pours were a little foamy, but after a few pours, was a great carb level for this beer.
