So, this is my very first post! I am currently working on building a mash tun out of a 10 gallon round rubbermaid cooler and had some extra 3/4" copper pipe around. Is this too big to use for the manifold? I am working on a budget so the more I can save the better, but I also want to do it right! I haven't been able to find anything about this yet so any input would be great! Thanks!

I used 1/2" but I don't see how 3/4" would make much difference. If you got it, use it.

In theory, it is the holes in the manifold that make the difference. The same "area" of slits or holes in a 1/2 inch would be the same as in a 3/4 inch manifold, so I vote go for it.

So I went with 1/2"...I work at Lowe's and after pricing the elbows, tees and such I found that it was the same price if not cheaper to go with the 1/2"

Thanks PlanetExpress. I'm thinking of making something similar for my 10 gallon round cooler. Let me know how yours turns out.
