Let's see them make enough regular to satisfy their current accounts first. When people in California are complaining about it being scarce, they don't make enough to reserve a huge amount for variants.

Feels more like an issue of poor allocation. There are some markets where those 4 packs are still available. Hell a friend got hooked up the other week because he dropped a good amount of cash and happened to ask if they had any left. There's still some around. It's just in places that got too much of it.

Talking Firestone Walker Parabola on that one - not BCBS.

Parabola > BCBS

I put Parabola above BCBS too. So much smoother and still full of body and depth.

This. Read my ******* mind.

Plus Parabola is actually easier to obtain that BCBS in Spokane.

Parabola = Smoother, more barrel, less sweet. I know this may not be the general consensus, but that's my opnion.

Plus don't forget. Opnions are like ********, everyone has one.

Man. We have to basically murder beer managers here to get a parabola.

Easier to trade for than buy in the stores, even being in distro.

Stop phishing for trades, homie.

Has there been any talk about a rebrew of King Henry for 2016, using the new Rare barrels?

And don't "Bourbon County Barleywine" me.
They've brewed and released a BW.
They've brewed "rare".
There are now, or shortly will be spent "rare" barrels.
Considering who owns GI....

Yes.
There will be a KH 2.0
And the shelves in Kentucky will never be the same.

I haven't had the bourbon county barleywine, but is it really that bad?

Or did some of you really find the OG that great?

Full Disclosure: I've had King Henry three times. The first was fresh (extra from Rowingbrewer, didn't even know what it was, crushed it with the dentist) - I was impressed. The next two were at tastings at least a year later; meh.

At no point was King Henry worth the purchase price on the boards for me. That being, not too many things out there are worth their new buy in price anymore....#newmoneyhomies

BCBBW is a good beer, but King Henry had more balance, less sweetness. Just better.

The BW is great, but it's no King Henry. It's very damn close though.

Very few things in the craft beer world are worth the buy in price if you didn't buy it first hand.

Ive seen HF maple syrup for over $100.
Maple.
*******.
Syrup.

**** that.

Thank you.

For the last time:

Not. The. Same. Beer.
Although King Henry was a top 10 beer ever when fresh, BCS Barleywine has been better than King Henry for awhile, FYI.

And since the barrels for Rare 2.0 are not Pappy barrels, why would the barleywine aged in them make it King Henry?

You're suggesting:
Rare 2.0 = Rare 1.0
BCS Barleywine ≠ King Henry
Barleywine aged in Rare 2.0 barrels = King Henry 2.0

Does not compute.

When:
x=years RARE was in barrel
y=age of barrel

King Henry = X x Y = 2 x 23 = 46
King Henry 2016 = X x Y = 2 x 35 = 70

Simple math says that King Henry 2016 will be 24 better than the original King Henry.

Therefore the new version of King Henry will be 52% BETTER than the original.

Holy ****, are you guys SEEING these numbers?!
