why is everyone complaining about the bottle size? do you even MarkIntihar bro?

As in, if you can Intihar, you can take down a 500 mls bottle.

1. A moderator on TalkBeer.com, imbiber of large quantities of beer from large drinking vessels, overall great guy [see:awesome people]

verb (used without object)
1. To imbibe beer from a vessel that, at a minimum, can hold 22 ounces of beer, and is filled to top: Drinking an entire bottle of Speedway Stout from a full CBS snifter is how you truly MarkIntihar, as it is the original

what do 500 ml bottles have to do with MarkIntihar -ing?

I understand what the definition is. I think what he is saying is that if you can drink an entire 22 ounce high alcohol beer in one sitting, then you can drink a 500 mls bottle. He's not saying that it qualifies as an Intihar.

Wow, I don't think I will be buying any regular in light of this. Rare will only be purchased if it is less expensive than the 2010 release.

Other than a 4 pack of BCBS each year I'm not aging them any more. I want the funk. I have bought or traded for more lambic in the last year than I had previously combined

what a bold stand to make.

the first quote was made prior to my finding out that it will be 500ml bottles for $10. I have a decent amount of 2013 to drown my BCBS blues in

You do realize that:
1. No one knows how much the bottles actually cost
2. $10 for a 500ml is still a better value than what some people paid, and not much more than $25/4 pack that seems to be common in most places.

A Goose Island spokeswoman said the suggested retail price for Bourbon County Stout will be $9.99, which would be approximately the same suggested price-per-ounce cost as last year. However, retailers are free to price the beer as they wish. (I paid almost double what I should have for a four-pack at a downtown Walgreens store last year.) She declined to comment on the suggested cost of the other Bourbon County beers.

We know at least one price.

it is $20-$22 a four pack in years past around me. so assuming the high end of 22 that 5.5 per 12 oz or 41.6 cents per oz. now the $10 16.9 oz averages to 59.2 cents per oz. nearly 50% increase in price

Slightly cheaper than last year. Remember last year the "retail" price for regular shot up to $29.99/4, .62/oz.

MSRP was $20/4pack in 2013 and $25/4pack in 2014.
At $10/500ml that's equivalent to $28.40/4pack in 2015.
42% increase since 2013. 13% increase since 2014.

No one should be surprised by this, I was expecting $30 4packs this year, and even though it would be more per oz I think I would prefer the smaller format.

The price/oz is still better than Parabola which is the only other contender for widely distributed, annually released, amazing BA stout.

Bczar Beans was one of the best (if not the best) stouts I've ever had. I'm all for Parabola/other FW stout variants.

Lel

Parabola.

widely distro'd is not the same as available. Just because FW has distro in many areas doesn't make it "widely" ditributed.

NOTE: this isn't a personal attack.

community: just because a brewery gets licensed and chose to distro in a wide area does not make them "widely" distro'd. See the regular dearth of FW beers in CA and you will see an example of how distro does not equate to wide distrobution. FW should be embarrassed by their neglect of it's constituents.

My posts might be hard to read tonight. Not doing spell check and stuff
