Ended up in a wine store today and saw some half priced coopers beer kits and I couldnt resist.

So i ended up with two coopers dark Ale kits, which I plan to make one kit out of and not add any DME or dextrose. Has anyone made this before? Anything that can improve this kit?

I usually put togther my own recipes but the price was too good :)

I've done the same thing before when it was in the clearance bin. I steeped a few leftover grains and added hops. The beer wasn't my best but drinkable and very cheap.

That will make a pretty good beer if you like an IBU level of around 70. I would add 4 ounces of aroma/flavor hops. I used Amarillo and Cascade when I did this.

I have done this method with and without a boil and then dry-hopped. Turned out quite fine.
