I just brewed my 5th batch last night so I'm pretty new to this. Anyways, 2 weeks ago I drank two 22 ounce bottles of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale & made a yeast starter from the dregs. I let the starter sit for 10 in the basement.
I poured off the top & added more DME. After 3 days, I put the starter in the fridge to let the yeast settle to the bottom.
Viola, 12 hours after pitching the yeast, there lots of activity.
