I'm getting ready to bottle my first batches of mead. I've got crown caps for beer bottles and some corks for a few wine bottles. Do I need to do anything to prep the corks and caps for bottling?

Trying to figure this out!!

Don't soak trhe corks. You want them dry. Seals better dry. But if you have a colander then place your corks in the colander and place your colander across the top of container into which you have poured a small quantity of K-meta. Use the SO2 fumes to sanitize the corks. The caps , you can soak in K-meta or allow them to be sanitized by the gas.
