Hey everybody! I've always gotten my answers from here so I finally decided to pull the trigger and be able to talk to some of you and learn from you guys. Still trying to adjust from the cider world to beer but I'm getting there.

So here is my question: I have a 1 gallon batch of NEIPA going but am unsure what to do with it, I've heard the style doesnt lend well to bottling but the only other option I have is a 5g Corny Keg. Any Advice?? I'm brewing in an apartment so I can't really make the jump to 5 gallons...yet

Regards

Tom

If you were to keg you'd have to do a thorough purge (fill to overflowing with Star San then push it all out).
Otoh, it's just ~11 bottles, which once carbed then chilled you'll likely plow through in short order if it comes out tasty :D
I doubt it'll stick around long enough to be appreciably degraded.

I'd go with the bottles for such a small batch...

Cheers!

They make 1.5gal kegs, they work great for small batches. I have two of them but use them more for transferring slow beer to free up a 5gal keg then fill them with small batches.
Haha unfortunately being a broke law student doesnt necessarily help in the buying equipment game but down the road I definitely will! I appreciate the help anyway! Cheers!!

Yep the cost of the smaller kegs isn't great :-(.

I brought new 2.5g ones for smaller batches and to have more variety in my kegerator etc but a cost of small keg is often more than a large one even comparing new to new. and the second hand market doesn't contain that many small kegs.
Once you are no longer a student I guess the costs won't be so bad but while studying year a bit too pricey.

If a 5g one is well purged its fine but you will use quite a bit of CO2.

As others have said bottles is probably ok for your small batch. If you want them fresh you could use PET bottles and carbonate them with a carbonation cap and CO2 rather than waiting for natural carbonation.
