Should I turn off the CO2 to the keg every night to save CO2? Does it make a difference? Will it hurt the keg? Just a few questions running through my mind :)

will edit in a second wanted to get 12001

whatever you meant to say, leave it on. with the regulator, it'll hit the pressure and keep it there. no 1 ever in the history of homebrewing ever turned off the co2 when not drinking it. you should keep it carbed 24/7

If your system is leak free and assuming your beer is fully carbed, you should not use any Co2 overnight.

Provided you have no leaks you wont waste any more gas with it off than it left on.

like they said,if you dont have a leak, but I still keep mine off when not in use.

I am pushing my 11th. keg right now from my 5lb. CO2 bottle. all were forced carbed but 1. so I expect to go refill the bottle any day now.

awesome :ban:

Both of my regulators have body leaks, so I shut mine off. Since I've got check valves in the lines, I just open the valve every couple days and top off the CO2 in the kegs. Annoying, but short of brazing the regulators, I'm stuck with it.

No reason to turn it off. No CO2 will escape from the tap since it is attached to a dip tube at the bottom of your beer.

Some of us must be unique. If I am away (vacation ,etc) I would turn the CO2 off. If I have a suspected slow leak I turn it off. Once the kegs are carbed up and you are maintaining them at temperature desired it does not matter if they are on or off. It does not however save you any CO2.

I either had a leaky corny or bad line connections and my first co2 bottle emptied in a couple days. I changed all the seals on my kegs, and went with a screwdriver and cranked down my hose clamps with all my might and my next bottle has been there for over 3 months and is still reading as full as when I hooked it up. I know the regulator only reads pressure and not volume so I probably should be ready to change soon, but if you have no leaks I wouldn't bother.
