Is that low? This is my 1st stout, I decided to be a little lazy and used a cooper's irish stout kit, 3.3 lbs of muntons pale LME, 1.25 lbs of flaked oats steeped, in 3 gallons of water. I pitched at 75 degrees, but I figured that stout SGs were around 1060, is my memory faulty? It sure smells nice, and I'm sure it will turn into great beer whatever it becomes, just wanted to know.
Thanks

Stouts can run the gamut of gravities -- they're all over the place. It sounds like this was a dry stout (Irish) and actually will be on the lower end, style guidelines suggest 1.036 to 1.050.

Getting into Sweet/Oatmeal stouts gets you around 1.05-1.07 or thereabouts, and Imperials just keep going up.

I'd say it'll turn out great. I shoot for 1.045-1.050 for a session-style beer.
