10.4 Gallon Black Swan barrel

As the title implies, I am in possession of a 10.4 gallon whiskey barrel, of which I plan on putting an Old Rasputin clone in. Thing is I just got it. It was a gift. I have no idea as what to do to keep it in tip top shape until I am ready to brew the clone, sometime at the end of the month. Should I keep some whiskey in it and swirl it around to keep it fresh and from expanding? How about sanitation? Thanks ! !

Put a 5th of whiskey in there and roll it around every so often. It'll keep it good until you're ready to use it.
