1 litre (33 oz) flip top head space?

What is the proper or ideal headspace for a 1 litre (33.81 oz) flip top bottle?

Call me an optimist, but I prefer "pretty much full", to "just a little bit empty."

I go with the headspace that's created when I pull out my drumming wand. Never had a problem

Which is usually about 1 inch of space? I stupidly didn't use my bottling wand. I think I have about 1.5 to 2 inches of head space, will that be ok?
