1 gallon batch slurry

I am kind of confused with the amount of pitch rate using the slurry of 1 gallon batch, i would like to use the slurry of 1 gal batch for the next 1 gal batch. Whats the proper procedure to divide the slurry of my 1 gal batch so i won't overpitch the next 1 gal batch?
